The NHDC Save For Home Program is designed to help bridge a financial gap for first-time home buyers who have completed the Home Buyer Education Course, enrolled in Pre-Purchase Counseling, and are within one year of purchasing their home. To sign up for Pre-Purchase Counseling, complete the application: Pre-Purchase Counseling intake form.

NHDC will match up to $1,500 for eligible participants. A new savings account must be established for the Save For Home Program, partnering institutions will be onsite to discuss saving options. Only new funds in the account will be matched. The program will launch on July 1st, 2024, thanks to the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors and the Community Foundation Brick by Brick Grant. 

• First time homebuyers within 1 year of purchase
• Need to complete the HomeBuyer’s Education Course and be enrolled in Pre-Purchase Counseling
• Income is 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI- adjusted for family size)
• Bank statements will be reviewed during Counseling sessions to ensure participant remains on track
