HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Since its establishment, the NHDC has purchased and rehabilitated existing homes as well as constructed new housing for first time home buyers. NHDC has built hundreds of homes and has assisted thousands of families in the transition from prospective home buyer to established homeowner.
RENTAL PROPERTIES
Our agency maintains a select inventory of residential property that is available as rental housing. NHDC also holds a special interest in assisting individuals with Section 8 and VA Vouchers.We perform regular home inspections to ensure the safety of our tenants and the quality of our properties.
FINANCIAL FITNESS PROGRAM
A 8-hour course specializing in basic money matters, setting a budget, credit repair and additional financial topics. Facilitated in an interactive classroom setting,the course is taught in four two-hour sessions. An ideal workshop for households that dream of home ownership but suffer financial obstacles that must be resolved.
HOME BUYER EDUCATION PROGRAM
Designed for households who are ready to purchase a home within one year or less, the eight-hour course is focused on the home purchase process from selecting a home to the closing transaction process. As we continue to foster and grow the community, NHDC encourages residents who take part in our organization to engage in Home Buyer Education and Home Counseling services.
COUNSELING SERVICES
One-on-one sessions with a NHDC staff professional tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. In addition to pre and post purchase questions, other topics may include fair housing, landlord tenant issues, mortgage delinquency and foreclosure intervention.
