Are you behind on your rent or utilities? We may be able to help

NHDC Cares offers various programs aimed at preventing homelessness and promoting housing stability. These programs include rental assistance, utility payment support, and housing support by utilizing wrap around support in the local community based on need. By assisting clients in covering rent and utility costs, NHDC Cares helps individuals and families remain housed during times of financial hardship

NHDC CARES – ONLY Marion County Residents Info & Guidelines

NHDC Cares, in partnership with Marion County’s ERA2 program, and Keys to Home in Alachua County, offers rental and utility assistance to help prevent homelessness.

Who’s Eligible for Marion County:

· Marion County residents

· Currently homeless or at risk (in a lease)

· Meet income limits

· Rent must align with FY2025 Fair Market Rates

Required Documents for Marion And Alachua County Applicants:

· Marion or Alachua County ID (adults)

· Social Security cards (all household members)

· Birth certificates (under 18)

· Check stubs for the past 30 days

· SSI/SSDI award letter (if applicable)

· Bank statements (30 days)

· Current lease or month-to-month agreement

· 3-day notice (if applicable)

Applicants will be informed of their status via email, along with further instructions if applicable. (please check junk or spam mail) Pre-screening will frequently open and close, due the volume of applications and funding. Pre-screens will be held for the current month. If you have not been offered assistance, please complete a new pre-screen each month.
