Homebuyer Education

The NHDC Home Buyers Education Seminar (HBE) is offered several times a year to assist potential homeowners to understand the entire home buying process. Established in 1997, our HBE seminar has assisted over 1,300 families to achieve their dream of homeownership.

This eight-hour course is coordinated by an experienced housing counselor with years of experience assisting first time Home Buyers. NHDC also partners with industry professionals who volunteer to teach some of the course modules and provide a comprehensive understanding of the home purchase process.

As an added benefit, many Down Payment Assistance Programs require some form of Home Buyers Education. Our seminar fulfills that requirement for most Programs including SHIP and the Florida Bond program.

Important Information:

The course requires a financial commitment from participants in the form of a **$50 registration fee. **This fee is fully refundable ONLY when you close on a home, with a copy of your closing disclosure. There is an additional fee of $6.00 for an additional meal (couple ticket). Children under 18 years of age are not allowed.

A non-refundable re-take fee is $25.00 within 2 years of original class date, anything prior will be at full registration fee – Please call the office for a promotion code before registering.

Deadline to register and pay for the course is the WEDNESDAY PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED COURSE DATE.
