NHDC CARES Program

Are you behind on your rent or utilities? We may be able to help

NHDC Cares offers various programs aimed at preventing homelessness and promoting housing stability. These programs include rental assistance, utility payment support, and housing support by utilizing wrap around support in the local community based on need. By assisting clients in covering rent and utility costs, NHDC Cares helps individuals and families remain housed during times of financial hardship in partnership with the Marion County CoC & Keys to Home (TaskForce). 

Who’s Eligible:

· County residents

· Currently homeless or at risk (in a lease)

· Meet income limits

· Rent must align with current Fair Market Rates

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE REGARDING YOUR APPLICATION STATUS.

Due to the extremely high volume of requests: NHDC CARES does not provide application-status updates by telephone. Applicants will be contacted by email regarding their application. Calling the office will not expedite an application and may delay our staff’s ability to process assistance requests.

Seeking assistance in Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy, Putnam, or Union Counties.

GNHDC is not accepting applicants at this time and will reopen on 6/20/27. Additional funding may be available through keystohome.org
